The Knights Templar’s Cellar in Čejkovice - South Moravia

The History of the Knights Templar’s Cellar in Čejkovice is linked to the arrival of this Secret Order. They came in around 1230. The construction of a large Wine Cellar started at the same time as the building of a Templar Fortress. The winery is still operating in the historical cellar where more than 500,000 litres of wine are stored in oak and barrique barrels.

The Kutná Hora Winery

The Kutná Hora Wine Cellar is a small winemaker, and a virtual anomally among Czech and Moravian producers. They own only a miniscule area of land compared to the larger Czech and Moravian vineyards. On the other hand, what fascinating wines they offer! The wine is produced from grapes ripened on southern slopes in the area surrounding Kutna Hora. The local soil conditions give these wines an inimitable aroma.
